BEDFORD, NH — Police in Bedford made a quick recovery of a dog after it accidentally fell into a septic tank on County Road on Monday.
Animal Control Officer Steven Paul and Officer Michael Heikkila were sent to the home around 2 p.m. for a report of a German Shepherd falling into a 500-gallon tank which was being serviced at the time.
The dog was about six feet down into the tank. Paul, Heikkila, and the homeowner then used a catchpole to pull the 85-pound dog out of the tank.
