Manchester Bank Robber Gets Two Years Behind Bars

A Manchester man received two years in prison this week for robbing the Northway Bank in Manchester last year.

MANCHESTER, N.H. - A Manchester man received two years in prison this week for robbing the Northway Bank in Manchester last year.

Aaron Pelchat, 36, of Manchester, was sentenced in federal court on Tuesday to serve 24 months in prison for the bank robbery, according to U.S. Attorney Scott Murary's office.

The conviction stems from the robbery on May 23, 2017, in which Pelchat walked into the Northway Bank branch in Manchester and handed the teller a note demanding money. Pelchat walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash but was picked up the next day after being identified from video stills. by numerous people.

Plechat pleaded guilty in January and will be on supervised release for three years after serving his prison sentence.

“Bank robberies are violent crimes that often can jeopardize the safety of bank employees, customers, and other members of the community,” said U.S. Attorney Murray. “The U.S. Attorney’s Office is committed to working with the law enforcement community to combat violent crimes such as bank robberies. By combatting violent crime, our goal is to ensure that the citizens of the Granite State feel safe in their local communities.”
