Manchester Hannaford Sells $2.4 Million Jackpot Lottery Ticket

CONCORD, NH — The newest Granite State millionaire was created when a resident won the $2.4 million jackpot in the Tri-State Megabucks drawing, which took place June 22. The winning ticket had been purchased at Hannaford Supermarket on John Devine Drive in Manchester. The winner of the jackpot ticket has claimed the prize through Houdini Nominee Trust of 2019, of Portsmouth.

On Tuesday, New Hampshire Lottery awarded Hannaford with $24,000 for selling the winning ticket. In turn, Hannaford has donated the money to Liberty House, which provides transitional housing for veterans who are homeless or struggling. The nonprofit was founded in 2004.

The winner of Saturday's jackpot ticket has chosen to receive the money through the cash payment of $1.2 million, according to NH Lottery. Houdini Nominee Trust of 2019, facilitated through attorney Stacey Shaheen-Bellabona, claimed the prize on the winner's behalf.

"While we certainly respect the winner's privacy, we could not be more excited to make this winner New Hampshire's latest millionaire," said Charlie McIntyre, executive director of NH Lottery. "On behalf of the New Hampshire Lottery, I'd like to extend heartfelt congratulations."

New Hampshire's previous Tri-State Megabucks jackpot winner was in July 2015, when a person won $1.65 million at the Market Basket in Bedford, located at 539 Donald St.

"On behalf of the Houdini Nominee Trust of 2019, I am pleased to accept this Tri-State Megabucks prize," said Shaheen-Bellabona. "I am limited in what I can say about these winners, but they are wonderful, responsible, hardworking people and are thrilled to be fortunate enough to take home this prize. They are grateful to have won the Tri-State Megabucks jackpot and are looking forward to using this toward retirement, their children's education, and sharing it with family."

The winning numbers for the June 22 drawing were 19-28-32-34-37 MegaBall 2. The winner matched all five numbers and the MegaBall. Tri-State Megabucks is sold in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, and drawings are held Wednesdays and Saturdays.
