Manchester Officers Negotiate Over 3 Hours With Barricaded Man

Anthony Dow wanted for parole violation refused to come out for police at a Highview Terrace residence. Dow was arrested after the standoff.

MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police responded to Highview Terrace on Sunday for a complaint of an unwanted person, according to the MPD call log.

When police arrived, they found that Anthony Dow, 24, who had an active warrant for a parole violation issued by another law enforcement agency.

Dow barricaded himself in the home and refused to come out of the house, according to police. Officers formed a perimeter around the residence and closed off part of the street to traffic.

Several additional units were summoned to the scene including the MPD Bearcat and trained negotiators. MPD Sgt. Candace Thomas made contact with Dow through an open window. She communicated with Dow for more than three hours. Dow was eventually convinced to come out peacefully and was not injured in the incident.

Dow was taken into custody and arrested on the outstanding warrant. Dow also faces an additional charge of resisting arrest from Sunday’s incident.
