Bear Tranquilized, Removed From Manchester Park
Manchester Police are warning residents to stay away from the Lafayette Park in downtown after a bear was spotted, stuck in a tree.

MANCHESTER, N.H. — A young bear cub was tranquilized and removed from a Manchester park after spending about three hours in a tree on Monday morning.
According to the Manchester Police Facebook, the bear was spotted early in the morning. "We ask you to AVOID the area of Notre Dame Ave. and Wayne Street while NH Fish and Game assist in removal of the bear. Thank you for your anticipated cooperation," the Facebook post read.
A nearby school, Holy Family Academy, went into a shelter-in-place while the bear was removed.

New Hampshire Fish and Game Conservation officers said they arrived just after 8:30 a.m. after receiving calls about the tree-bound bear.
Conservation officers said a biologist was then called in and crates were set up to trap the bear.

After tranquilizing the bear, the one-and-half-year-old cub was relocated
"This happens a lot, it's quite common for this time of year when bears are searching for food, bird feeders or whatever they can get their paws on," a conservation officer said.
