Manchester Robber Who Flashed Gun Arrested

A Manchester felon is facing new charges after he allegedly attempted to rob the 7-Eleven on Beech Street last week.

MANCHESTER, N.H. - A Manchester felon is facing new charges after he allegedly attempted to rob the 7-Eleven on Beech Street last week.

According to police, officers responded to the convenience store 242 Beech Street just before 3 a.m. on May after receiving a reported attempted robbery. According to the clerk, a Caucasian male entered the store and began to pace in front of the counter.

According to the victim, the suspect walked towards the counter then flashed a handgun while asking for two packs of cigarettes. The clerk refused his request and continued working.

Police said the man then left the store and approached a female in the parking lot, asking for money and again flashing his gun.

Police said the suspect pointed the handgun and threatened to kill her if she failed to provide money, so she entered the store and withdrew cash from the ATM. She handed him the money before he fled in a dark colored sports utility vehicle.

Police caught up with the suspect in the area of 431-435 Hanover Street an hour after the robbery after he exited an apartment and officers noticed he was wearing the same clothes as described by the victim.

Richard Blais, 33 of Manchester, New Hampshire was arrested and charged with two counts robbery, one count felonious use of a firearm and one count convicted felon.

He was scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on May 10.
