Mexican Yarn Painting Artist Visits Local Middle School and Restaurant

Margaritas Mexican Restaurant hosts artist from Mexico through its Visiting Artist Program.

BEDFORD, NH β€” Cilau Valadez, a Mexican yarn painting artist, will visit Ross A. Lurgio Middle School in Bedford as part of Margaritas Mexican Restaurant’s Visiting Artist Program. Valadez will also be at Margaritas in Manchester from 4 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, to demonstrate his art and interact with guests.

Valadez is a fourth-generation Huichol yarn painter from Santiago Ixcuintla, Mexico. Valadez’s art has been on exhibit in North America, Europe, and Asia and featured at the United Nations, the Museum of International Folk Art, and at events sponsored by National Geographic.

Margaritas hosts Mexican artists each year through this program, and the artist tours local schools, museums, and Margaritas locations throughout New England as part of its mission to bring authentic, educational and entertaining experiences to its guests. The program started in 1999.
