NH Little League Tournament Will Go to Game 3 for Goffstown and Concord

Day 2 of the Little League State Tournament sees Goffstown 9/10 year-olds come back to win their game against Concord, tying the series.

The second day of the New Hampshire Little League State Tournament saw Goffstown come back to win their game against Concord, tying the 9/10 year-old division at 1-1, with the last game scheduled for Tuesday at 5pm.

Starting under a gray sky at noon, Goffstown pitcher Aiden O’Connell came out strong and went the distance, throwing four strikeouts, giving away no walks, and allowing just 5 hits. Not only did he keep Concord to only one run defensively, he also contributed to a strong offense, scoring runs in the first and sixth innings. Other big contributors to the Goffstown offense were Ryan Cote, with three hits for three RBIs, and Logan Simmons with a run.

Goffstown’s strong pitching shut Concord’s offense down, with their only run being scored by Ryan Philbrick in the first inning. Their starting pitcher, Isaiah Robles managed 3 strikeouts in the two-and-two-thirds innings he was on the mound, and they struggled defensively for the rest of the game. One bright spot for Concord’s defense was the excellent work by Brooks Craigue at shortstop. He made several excellent plays, including throwing a runner out at home to end the first inning.
