Officials Seek Input On Bedford's Route 101 Construction Plans

Transportation officials will hold a hearing Thursday to gain input on plans to rehabilitate the Bedford bridge on Route 101.

BEDFORD, NH — The state transportation officials are seeking input from Bedford residents about planned construction on Route 101. New Hampshire Department of Transportation will hold an informational meeting this Thursday about the proposal to rehabilitate or replace the bridge that carries Route 101 over the Pulpit Brook. Improvements are also planned at the intersection of Twin Brook Lane and Route 101.

During the meeting, transportation officials will present information on the proposed project and get public input on the plans. This will help ensure that decisions pertaining to the project meet the public's transportation needs and community goals, while also protecting and enhancing the environment, DOT officials have said.

The Route 101 Bridge going over Pulpit Brook is one of the bridges that is "red-listed" in New Hampshire, meaning the structure is in poor condition. The bridge was constructed in 1951, according to transportation documents.
