BEDFORD, NH — The Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, the organizations for New Hampshire and Vermont, are collaborating with an online food delivery service to help get cookies out to customers next month.

In some markets in both states, as well as nationally, GrubHub has agreed to assist the org with cookie deliveries starting in February via the company's website or app.

Many girls are finding ways to sell cookies in safe ways during the coronavirus pandemic but this will also assist them in getting orders out. Starting Feb. 1, cookies will be available to order online. Between Feb. 12, and March 22, booths and door-to-door sales will be held.

The pandemic struck in the middle of cookie selling season in 2020 requiring girls to change their sales methods. More than 81,000 boxes were donated to military and hometown heroes, too, in 2002.

"We are looking forward to this year's Girl Scout Cookie season," Patricia Mellor, the CEO of Girl Scouts of the Green and White Mountains, said. "We are keeping our Girl Scouts safe while they learn essential life skills in our cookie program, like people skills, business ethics, goal-setting, money management, and more. Our girls look forward to the cookie program each year, as it provides them a fun and interactive way to fund the things they do."

As part of the cookie badge program in 2021, Girl Scouts are getting new materials to support while running their cookie businesses online and via social media so they can earn their badges.

GrubHub is waiving fees to the organization, Mellor said. Direct sales can also be made through the org's Digital Cookie platform. In New Hampshire, Simon Malls and GNC are offering space outside their retail locations so girls can sell the cookies in person, too.
