Residents Asked To Shelter In Place In North End Of Manchester

MANCHESTER, NH - Manchester Police have issued a shelter in place for an incident occurring on North Union Street that began Wednesday.

Update From MPD at 10:00 a.m.

On May 26, 2021, at approximately 7:50 AM, US Marshals responded to a home on Union St to serve a warrant. Upon arrival, shots were fired.

Manchester Police responded to assist, SWAT personnel and the Bearcat were deployed. A perimeter was set up, surrounding roads were shut down and were asked to shelter in place. Crisis negotiators are speaking with an individual inside the residence.

Additional shots have been fired since officers arrived on scene. There are no known injuries.

Staging area for media is Union St and Whitford St.

Manchester police say they were assisting another agency in a Facebook Posting. The MPD call log says there was a shooting on Union Street, and an ambulance that was dispatched was asked to stage away from the scene.

Manchester Police are in the area of Union St and Pinecrest Rd assisting the US Marshals with an investigation.

Shots have been fired. No known injuries at this time.

Manchester Fire is on scene setting up the regional command post a few blocks from the scene.

MPD SWAT and the MPD Bearcat are on the scene with several officers in front of a house on Union Street. Neighbors who are outside of their houses are being directed back in their houses or to leave the area in their vehicles.

Several people wearing U.S. Marshal protective vests are in the area working with Manchester Police.

Multiple blocks surrounding the 1400 block of Union Street are closed to traffic.
