Teenage Drowning Victim From Bedford Identified By Family Members
Condolences are pouring in for the 15-year-old who drowned in Sebbins Pond in Bedford. Rescuers searched but could not save him.
BEDFORD, NH — Bedford fire, and police responded Sunday to a report of a teenager who went underwater after using a rope swing and did not resurface.
The Nashua Fire Dive Team was immediately requested to assist as well as NH Fish and Game, and NH Marine Patrol. At about 9:15 p.m. the teenager was found by divers after searching for nearly 3 hours, and he died at the scene.
The boy has been identified by several sources as 15-year-old Charlie Zink of Bedford

On Twitter, U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas (D-NH) posted an emotional note about Charlie who he identified as his nephew.

Charlie was the son of Pappa’s sister Alyssa Pappas Zink, and her husband, Erik.

U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster (D-NH) released a statement saying, "Brad and I, along with our entire staff, were heartbroken to learn that Chris Pappas’s nephew died on Sunday. We have reached out to support Chris and his family during this tragic time. The Pappas family is beloved by our entire federal delegation and by constituents across the Granite State. We urge respect for the family’s privacy and compassion for their loss in the coming days.”
At this time no arrangements for services to remember Charlie has been announced.
