Tractor-Trailer Pulls Down Utility Lines And Pole In Bedford

A truck traveling near West Drive and South Hills Drive and struck low hanging wires and pulled live wires down, trapping the driver.

BEDFORD, NH — Bedford police, and fire responded to a report of a tractor-trailer with a driver trapped by downed power lines near West Drive and South Hills Drive on Tuesday.

Eversource was immediately notified to respond to the scene to assist with mitigating electrical hazards. Power was disconnected from the area and the driver was able to safely exit the truck. The driver was uninjured in the incident.

According to sources at the scene during the last storm, several area residents had reported the low hanging wires, however, they remained unrepaired.

Eversource is on the scene and the roadway is blocked while the pole and wires are repaired.

There are a limited number of customers in the immediate area that lost power.
