Wallace Road in Bedford Closed After Car Crash

Bedford Police have closed a part of Wallace Road after a morning car crash.

BEDFORD, N.H. - Bedford Police have closed a part of Wallace Road after a morning car crash.

According to Bedford Police, a 61-year-old Bedford woman, lost control of her vehicle while traveling southbound on Wallace Road, striking a stone wall and a utility pole. She was transported to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Police said the portion of Wallace Road between Brick Mill and Nashua Road would be closed for the rest of the day while crews work to repair the broken pole. During that time, only local traffic will have access to the area.

When fire and police crews arrived they observed a vehicle with front end damage and a small brush fire burning nearby.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, and power was temporarily shut off in the area.

The crash remains under investigation, but alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor, police said.
