Wild Weather Causes Detours, Power Outages In Bedford
Whipping winds and heavy rain late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning led to down trees, branches and debris.

BEDFORD, NH — Eversource showed there were nearly 50 Bedford residents who remained without power in four outages in town early Thursday night after a wild 24 hours of wind and rain. Winds reaching more than 50 miles per hour brought down trees, branches and covered roads with debris throughout the southern part of New Hampshire.
Patch reader Priscilla Powers caught a shot of this tree (pictured above) down across Holbrook Road this morning. She said buses were unable to complete routes on the road because of the detour.
Eversource said that more than 400 line, tree and service workers repaired damage as quickly and safely as possible Wednesday night and throughout the day on Thursday. It said it restored power to more than 52,000 customers in the 12 hours after the storm began. There were about 9,000 state residents still without power as of late Thursday afternoon.
