Manchester Woman Critically Injured In Londonderry Crash

A Mazda crashed into the woods of the Exit 5 South onramp on I-93 leaving a woman with life-threatening injuries.

LONDONDERRY, NH — A vehicle reportedly came South on the Interstate 93 offramp at, continued across to the 93 South onramp, and crashed into the woods at a high speed at 7:45 a.m. Monday. The car caught fire while the female driver was heavily entrapped in the vehicle. First arriving troopers and others used fire extinguishers to stop the fire from spreading to the interior of the car.

Londonderry firefighters used the jaws of life and other tools for nearly an hour to extricate the victim, a 44-year-old woman from Manchester.

DHART helicopter was requested and landed at the top of the Exit 5 southbound onramp. While DHART landed I-93 South was closed to traffic. The victim was treated and prepared for flight at the scene. She was brought to the waiting DHART helicopter and was flown to a Boston hospital with life-threatening injuries.

It is unknown what caused the vehicle to crash and it is being investigated by NHSP.
