Bedford Democrats: Work Of Many Helped Elections Be Safe And Fair

In this season of giving thanks, the Bedford Democratic Committee extends gratitude to the many individuals who contributed to the election process in Bedford. While the pandemic made this election cycle especially challenging, the work of so many ensured safe, fair, and accessible voting for Bedford residents.

Our town’s election team dedicated countless hours over many months. Thank you to Town Moderator Bill Klein, Town Clerk Sally Kellar and Deputy Town Clerk Gloria MacVane, and Supervisors of the Checklist Barbara Chagnon, Hugh Donovan, and Beverly Yuksel. This year’s special circumstances required the recruitment of extra support above and beyond the normal amount needed during any election. Many dozens of Bedford residents aided in the efforts over the past few months as assistants to our election team, volunteers, and poll workers. These individuals helped on election day and throughout the months proceeding it, which included the processing of a record number of new registrations and absentee ballots.

Other town staff contributed to ensuring a safe environment and deserve our collective thanks, including Bedford’s Police Department and the Department of Public Works.

Thank you to all the candidates who ran, regardless of party. We appreciate the courage and commitment it takes to run for public office. To those who chose to run a positive and fact-based campaign, you deserve an extra serving of our gratitude this Thanksgiving season!

Lastly, thank you to everyone who showed up to vote either in person or via absentee ballot. Every vote does count!
