Check Out New England's Largest Sandbox Saturday

BRENTWOOD, NH — Check out the region's largest sandbox. Heavy Construction Academy is hosting its first annual HCA Family Day at 48 Pine Road in Brentwood from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, according to a press statement. The event will benefit the Liberty House in Manchester, NH.

“With free admission it’s fun for the whole family,” Brian Martin HCA Business Development and Operations Director said. “It’s going to be a kids dream to get their hard hats, balloons and construction tattoos, head up the dirt hill and take a photo with Builder Bob, then jump down into a 1,600 sq. ft. sand box complete with kid-sized excavators and other fun items.” (For more information on this and other neighborhood stories, subscribe to Exeter NH Patch to receive daily newsletters and breaking news alerts.)

Kids are also encouraged to bring their favorite heavy equipment toys to play with as well. In addition, kids can head over to the touch-a-truck section where they can sit in and get their pictures taken with nine different pieces of heavy equipment.

The rest of the family can enjoy games, live music, a great BBQ for $5 which starts at 11:30AM and then anyone 18+ for $10 take ten minutes operating one of the many pieces of heavy equipment. 100 percent of the all money raised will go to the Liberty House in Manchester. Teenagers can take advantage of the virtual reality excavator simulator!

For more than a decade, Liberty House has been providing a safe, supportive, substance-free housing community for American veterans transitioning out of homelessness helping veterans rejoin their communities and regain fulfilling, independent lives.

Heavy Construction Academy is the premier school in the nation number one for seat time which provides a hands-on training and certification program in operation of heavy equipment. HCA provides career services to all students to help them get the right job after graduation.
