EXETER, NH — July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day. We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around Exeter so you can start planning now.
Here's what's in store this July 4th in the Exeter area:
- What: Portsmouth Annual Fireworks Display
- Where: South Mill Pond, Portsmouth
- When: July 3, 9:15 p.m.
- Rain date: July 5
The city of Portsmouth and Wilcox Industries are sponsoring the annual fireworks display on July 3 at the South Mill Pond across from the Portsmouth City Hall. Portsmouth has a long-standing tradition of hosting one of the seacoast area's finest displays of fireworks!

- What: Hampton Beach Independence Day Fireworks
- Where: Hampton Beach, between B and C streets
- When: July 4, 9:30 p.m.
Bring a blanked and your entire family to enjoy this special Independence Day fireworks shoot, presented by the Hampton Village District.
- What: Fireworks/American Independence Festival
- Where: Exeter's American Revolution Museum; Swasey Parkway
- When: July 13, all day. Fireworks at 8:45 p.m.
The all-day American Independence Festival will have food, shopping, Revolutionary War reenactments, and more. After the festival, Exeter Parks and Recreation is sponsoring a live band concert at 6:45 p.m., followed by fireworks at Swasey Parkway.

- What: Raymond Fourth Of July Parade and Celebration
- Where: Raymond Town Common
- When: July 4, parade at 9:30 a.m., celebration at 11 a.m.
The Raymond Fourth of July Parade will begin at the intersection of Route 27 and Epping Street. It will proceed down to the Town Common, turn left onto Old Manchester Road and around Wight Street, with floats, horses, school bands, antique cars, mini-cars, tractors, clowns in costumes and community groups. The celebration at the Town Common will include a patriotic ceremony, parade awards, music, free lunch and snacks, as well as crafts, games, face painting and a dunk tank.
- What: Brentwood Fourth of July Parade
- Where: Swasey Central School, 355 Middle Road, Brentwood, NH
- When: July 4, 10 a.m.
Starting at the Swasey School, the parade will head west toward Route 125, taking a right up Crawley Falls Road and another right down Dalton Road back toward the Swasey School, where it will end.
