Fire Department Collects Donations For Family After House Fire
Angela, Lily, Joe Marcero lost nearly everything after a house fire in East Kingston – so firefighters sent out another call to help.

EAST KINGSTON, NH — One East Kingston family is having a better holiday than would be expected after the firefighters called to their home to extinguish a fire put out another call to help the family out. On Dec. 15, Angela, Lily, and Joe Marcero lost many of their belongings, including their Christmas presents, after a dryer caused a fire in their home. The family was able to get out of the home safely and no one was injured.
To offset the impact of losing everything, the East Kingston Fire Department put out another call – for donations to help the family.
In less than a week, the department received hundreds of donations including toys, clothes, blankets, appliances, household items, and gift cards from more than 80 people.

"It has been wonderful to see the outpouring of support for the family and the countless number of people in the East Kingston community who want to help," said Chief Ed Warren of the East Kingston Fire Department. "Helping out your neighbor is what the holiday season is all about, and we hope we have been able to bring the Marcero family some holiday cheer following a difficult week."
The family picked up the items last week, according to Warren.
