Get Ready for Exeter Hospital’s Trick or Treat Trot
The Beyond the Rainbow Fund provides financial assistance and support to patients in need at Exeter Hospital's Center for Cancer Care.

EXETER, NH — Get into the Halloween spirit by joining Exeter Hospital at its fourth annual Halloween Trick or Treat Trot 5K Run/Walk and Creepy Crawler Fun Run on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016. Proceeds from the race and participant fundraising benefit The Beyond the Rainbow Fund, which provides financial assistance and support to patients in need at Exeter Hospital’s Center for Cancer Care, according to a press statement.
This family-friendly event has continuously grown in popularity since it began four years ago and draws community members together for a morning filled with fun activities. As part of the Halloween celebration, race participants are encouraged to come dressed in costume and enter the best costume contest.
The event kicks off at 9 a.m. with the Trick or Treat Trot 5K Run/Walk from the Exeter Hospital campus. The non-competitive Creepy Crawler Fun Run for ages 10 and under begins at 10:30 a.m., preceded by a warm-up at 10:15 a.m. led by Taylor Chace, BS, CSCS. Taylor is a performance specialist from the Athletic Performance Center of Exeter Hospital and an accomplished athlete who earned the title of 2010 Paralympic Sportsman of the Year for sled hockey by the United States Olympic Committee and was inducted into the New Hampshire Legends of Hockey Hall of Fame in 2015.

Participants can register online through Oct. 26 at active.com or download a registration form at unitedinwellness.org/trickortreattrot. Event day registration is also available from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. for the Run/Walk and until 10 a.m. for the Fun Run with payment by cash or check only. The cost for the Run/Walk for ages 19 and older is $30 through 10/28/16 and $35 on event day. Student rates for ages 18 and under for the Run/Walk is $20 through 10/28/16 and $25 on event day. The cost for the Fun Run is $8 through 10/28/16 and $10 on event day.
Early bib pick-up is available on Friday, Oct. 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Center for Orthopedics and Movement located at 7 Alumni Drive on the Exeter Hospital Campus. Free gait analyses and orthotics/foot assessments will also be offered to participants during this time by James Dolan, DPM and Vasilios Lirofonis, DPM, of Core Podiatry.

Prizes donated by local businesses will be awarded to both male and female overall Trot and age group division winners, best costume in both the 5K and Fun Run and top three individual fundraisers. Participants will also enjoy complimentary post race snacks, face painting, Halloween gift bags for Fun Run participants, as well as the opportunity to meet physicians from Core Physicians and Exeter Hospital. Participants are also encouraged to bring a healthy food item, which will be donated to End 68 Hours of Hunger.
