Jump Rope Team Wins Big at Nationals in Orlando
Extreme Air of New Hampshire competed in the 2017 USA Jump Rope National Championships in Orlando in late June.

Extreme Air of New Hampshire – the state’s only nationally-competitive jump rope team – competed in the 2017 USA Jump Rope National Championships in Orlando, according to a press statement. The annual tournament was held at ESPN's Wide World of Sports complex in the Walt Disney World Resort from June 27-30, followed by the Grand Nationals tournament on June 31, 2017. Boys and girls from Patch communities Exeter, Londonderry, Portsmouth, and Chelmsford, MA, as well as Brentwood, Dover, Durham, Hampton Falls, Newmarket, Rochester, Weare, and Glastonbury, CT.
Each athlete on the Extreme Air team qualified for at least one National Championship event, with several jumpers qualifying for multiple events. Individual and team events included both speed and freestyle competitions. In all, the New Hampshire team won three Bronze, four Silver and three Gold Medals at the USA Nationals, and competed in three internationally-sanctioned Grand National events. As a team, Extreme Air finished in 8th place overall - 7th place in speed events and 10th place in freestyle events.

USA Jump Rope sanctions a series of tournaments across the United States which culminate in the National Tournament. Competition starts at the regional level, with top finishers advancing through to the next level. Events are held in a variety of age divisions, speed, freestyle, and team competitions.

Anyone interested in seeing Extreme Air of New Hampshire perform can stop by Newmarket Night Out on Aug. 12 at 5:45 p.m., the Hampton Children's Festival on Aug. 17 at 3 p.m., or Prescott Park in Portsmouth on Aug. 18 at 5:30 p.m. Tryouts for the upcoming season are scheduled for Sept. 10 at 3 p.m. at Newmarket High School.
