Exeter Hospital hosted two free CPR classes on Saturday, June 7 that were free and open to the public. The morning session, which was attended by 49 people, offered the American Heart Association’s Heartsaver CPR and AED course and provided certification for attendees. The afternoon session, attended by 45 people, included the American Heart Association’s Friends and Family CPR course, which teaches basic CPR and choking relief skills for infants and children. It was followed by a presentation about how to make your home safe for babies and small children, by Elizabeth Melendy, MD of Core Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine.“Exeter Hospital is proud to continue its annual tradition of offering free CPR training to the public,” said Mike Hall, Training Center Coordinator, who coordinated both events. “When a family member, friend or anyone is having a life-threatening emergency, being able to perform these skills until an ambulance arrives can make all the difference.”
