Paving Contractor Suffers Electric Shock On Job In Exeter
A paving contractor suffered electric shock and was critically injured while doing pavement crack sealing in Exeter.

EXETER, NH — A paving contractor was flown by helicopter to a medical facility early Wednesday after suffering electric shock in Exeter. The 27-year-old man from Endicott, New York, an employee of AnnSeal Incorporated, was doing crack sealing work on Route 101 when the company truck struck overhead power lines with a portable light tower it had as part of its cargo, according to the State Police. The company employee, who was standing next to the truck, got electric shock and was critically injured, police say.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. The man who was injured was transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, and then flown by helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital for treatment.
A portion of Route 101 East in the vicinity of Exit 11 was closed to traffic for about three hours as police investigated the incident and electric power was being restored. The Exeter Police and Fire departments helped the State Police on the scene, and Unitil responded to address the power issue.
