Portsmouth Symphony Chamber Series to Conclude Apr. 22
The Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra's chamber music series concludes Sunday, April 22 at 3 p.m.

PORTSMOUTH, NH - Some of Portsmouth's youngest and most talented musicians will be performing next week as the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra’s chamber music series concludes Sunday, April 22 at 3 p.m.
The night will include a performance by the Musical Youth of the Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra (MyPSO) at Phillips Church at Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, NH. Interested attendees should note this venue is different than originally publicized. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
MyPSO now comprises several top-tier young chamber music groups that will perform in solos, trios, quartets and quintets. The offerings by fifteen young talented musicians are seminal chamber music works by Bloch, Boccherini, Debussy, Glazunov, Gliere and Schubert. Beginning the program is last year’s concerto competition winner cellist Roric Cunningham performing Tchaikovsky’s Pezzo capriccioso, Op.62. The performance will conclude with the Schubert B minor trio Opus 99 performed by Ian MacKay, violin mentor; Emma Theberge, pianist and MyPSO intern; and Griffin Seuter, cellist and graduating MyPSO performer.

“This group of talented youth will take you from a charming walk along the Streets of Madrid to the cantor’s Kol Nidre ‘All Vows’ call at the beginning of the holy day Yom Kippur,” notes Dorothy Braker, Outreach Coordinator of MyPSO and Get Cozy Series. “The skill and dedication of this group of young performers is remarkable and it is only fitting that we should conclude this season’s Get Cozy season by highlighting these up and coming members of the classical music world.”
The full Portsmouth Symphony Orchestra will perform their final mainstage concert on Sunday, June 10 at 3pm.
