BRENTWOOD, NH — The grand jury at Rockingham County Superior Court has indicted a Stratham man charged with robbing and kidnapping a 17-year-old in Sandown. Dennis R. Field, 18, was indicted on five felonies stating he and two other men committed the robbery while jabbing a firearm into the victim's head in October. The robbery took place in a vehicle that Field was driving, the indictments state.

According to Field's charges, the three men confined the victim inside of a vehicle on Oct. 7. One of the other two men in the case "jabbed a firearm" into the victim's head while Field threatened to kill the victim, demanding the 17-year-old's gold chain, hooded sweatshirt, wallet, phone and shoes, the indictments state. Field is also charged with driving the vehicle during the incident.

The grand jury this month has indicted Field on charges of kidnapping, robbery, criminal threatening, theft by unauthorized taking and theft by unauthorized taking with a deadly weapon. The kidnapping charge is a Class B felony, which carries a maximum possible sentence of 3 1/2 to 7 years in prison if Field is convicted. The other four charges are special felonies, each carrying a maximum possible sentence of 10 to 20 years in prison if convicted.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt; rather, it means a grand jury has found sufficient evidence in the case to warrant a trial.
