Vernon Family Farm Kicks off Dinner & Music Series

NEWFIELDS__Vernon Family Farm is hosting Grammy nominated performer Celia Woodsmith & The Mountain on May 28 as part of their dinner and music series.

Reservations are required for the Friday event, which will run from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with music from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Firepit and table seats are sold out, but lower field tickets are still available.

These events at the farm highlight local food available at the farm store and VFF pastured chicken. The farm has their own whole smoked rotisserie chicken available every Friday. New this year, they are offering a BBQ chicken dinner that includes 3 pieces of smoked and BBQ Vernon Family Farm chicken with a side of fries and coleslaw. The BBQ dinner plates are sold out for May 28 but will be available at upcoming events.

Woodsmith is a Grammy nominated performer, vocalist, and songwriter. She’s been influenced by artists such as John Prine, Janis Joplin, Patsy Cline, and Mahalia Jackson and has molded her own vocal style that can be described as "one of a kind: gritty, muscular, folksy and intimate sometimes all at once" (Bluegrass Situation). In the last 10 years, Celia has released six albums with Nashville based string band Della Mae. In 2014 Della Mae was nominated for a Best Bluegrass Album Grammy for their record "This World Oft Can Be."

Vernon Family Farm is hosting a series of live music events from May through October. Events are BYOB and guests are asked to leave their pets at home. Due to COVID-19 regulations and restrictions, dining at the farm is limited and requires reservations for a spot and supper.
