2016 Sand Sculpting Event is Underway

Annual Hampton Beach event runs through June 18; night illumination runs through July.

HAMPTON, NH – Two hundred tons of imported sand were dropped on Hampton Beach yesterday as part of the 16th Annual Hampton Beach Master Sand Sculpting Classic.

The solo competition awards $15,000 in prizes to those competing.

Voting for the People’s Choice Award will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 18; at 8 p.m. the organization will award the prizes and the fireworks will be set off at 9:30 p.m.

The sculptures will be illuminated for night viewing through July 4.
