HAMPTON FALLS, NH — An early morning traffic stop on Interstate 95 led New Hampshire State Police to issue drug dealing charges against two out-of-state residents Wednesday. Just after midnight, a state trooper stopped a Subaru Outback on the highway in Hampton Falls on a speeding offense. The troopers, according to Lt. John Hennessy of Troop A, "observed multiple indicators that the vehicle’s occupants were possibly engaged in drug trafficking."

The owner of the vehicle, Adelso Chaves, pictured lower left, 33, of Boston, Massachusetts, reportedly agreed to a consent search of the vehicle and trooper found "approximately 300 grams of crack cocaine" inside of a Chips Ahoy cookie box, according to Hennessy. Chaves and a passenger, Tyquan Mack, 29, of New York, New York, were both arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to sell.

"At the jail, a subsequent search of Mack lead to the discovery of approximately 50 grams of crack cocaine on his person," Hennessey said. "Additionally, Mack is charged with resisting arrest and falsifying physical evidence."
