Credit Union Offering Scholarships To NH High School Students

Students in a number of Rockingham County communities can apply for $15,000 in college scholarships from Merrimack Valley Credit Union.

LAWRENCE, MA — Merrimack Valley Credit Union and Bridgewater Credit Union are offering thousands of dollars in scholarships to students in their banking areas including southeastern New Hampshire. High school students can apply for 15 $1,000 scholarships. Two of the 15 will be awarded to credit union members.

The other 13 scholarships are open to any high school senior from Exeter, Hampton, Londonderry, Salem, and Windham as well as Atkinson, Brentwood, Chester, Danville, Derry, East Kingston, Fremont, Hampstead, Hampton Falls, Kensington, Kingston, Newton, Plaistow, Sandown, Seabrook, and South Hampton.

"Our annual scholarship program is just one way that we give back to those in our community," said John Howard, the president and CEO of Merrimack Valley Credit Union. "Higher education is important for many young adults as they pursue different career paths. Our scholarships will help fifteen bright and driven students from our community advance their education, either close to home or across the country."

Submissions must be postmarked by March 1. Applications can be found online at the Merrimack Valley Credit Union website. The credit union has locations in New Hampshire in Plaistow and Seabrook.
