Gould: Support Janet Stevens for Executive Council

I am moved to write my first ever endorsement of a political candidate and do so in support of Janet Stevens for Executive Council-District 3. Clearly, over the years Janet has demonstrated her commitment to the communities of the Seacoast. She is a small business owner, has a long history of serving on local and State Boards and Commissions and has been active with area non-profits. Among many other endorsements Janet has been endorsed by two people for whom I have tremendous respect; Seacoast legend, Ruth Griffin and former NH House Speaker, Donna Sytek of Salem.

Given the distasteful polarization of politics on many levels, I trust Janet will continue with her pragmatic and reasonable approach to issues in a transparent manner that will always serve the best interests of her constituents. Having worked with Janet in my capacity as police chief (ret.) and municipal manager I know that Janet understands the challenges facing communities and the importance of delivering quality services to those communities within appropriate fiscal constraints.
