HAMPTON BOY SCOUT FOOD DRIVE November 3rd- 10th 2018
Our four local food pantries are so grateful for the support of the scouts and the Hampton Community. Thank You!

It is sad to realize that there are so many families in New Hampshire
that rely on food pantries. We have also come to realize that Hampton
is not exempt from this situation. Losing a job or getting sick can
have a disastrous impact on a family’s ability to buy enough food. To make matters worse, the soup kitchen operated at Hampton Beach was destroyed by fire last April and has yet to secure a site to reopen. This kitchen has served hundreds weekly from May to October for many years.
The Scouts of Hampton have a plan to help those Hampton families in
need. As a part of the 31st Annual Scouting for Food Drive of the
Daniel Webster Council, Boy Scout Troops and Cub Scout Packs will join together to help reduce the impact of hunger in our community. On Saturday November 3rd Scouts will deliver hang tags to Hampton residences regarding the need for non-perishable food items and canned goods. The items most needed include: Non-perishable food and hygiene items (no glass, please) such as canned protein (tuna, chicken, peanut butter), soups, 100% fruit juice, grains (pasta, rice, macaroni & cheese), canned vegetables and fruits, condiments, and hygiene products such as diapers, toilet paper, tissues, soap, and
toothpaste.
With the cooperation of the Seacoast Media Group, owners of the Hampton
Union and the Portsmouth Herald, many of the hang tags will be placed in
their plastic newspaper boxes in an effort to cut down the number of
door hangers removed by wind.

On Saturday, November 10th, the Scouts will return to the areas where they
left the hang tags to pick up your donations. Bags or boxes with the
hang tag taped to them or marked “SCOUTS” can be left in bags or boxes
outside in a visible location by 8:30 am for pick-up. Alternatively,
non-perishable items may be dropped throughout the week at the Hampton
Town Hall, 100 Winnacunnet Rd. as well as the entrances at Hannaford Grocery 630 Lafayette Rd in Hampton. November 10th, all donations will be brought to the The United Methodist Church 525 Lafayette Rd, Hampton where they will be inspected and prepared for pick up by our local food pantries. Every food item collected in Hampton will be used by Hampton’s own food pantries.
Thank you in advance for your generous support to our local food pantries!
