Hampton Golfer Wins US Kids Player of the Year

Hayli Snaer competed in the tournament earlier this year and will now play in North Carolina and Scotland.

Hayli Snaer, Hampton fourth-grader and competitive golfer, competed on the U.S. Kids Boston Local Tour and won the Player of the Year title this fall.

With her first place finish for the New England region, and her achievement of the scoring requirement, she has now qualified to play in the European Championship in Scotland and the World Championship in Pinehurst, NC.

Snaer has been playing since she was 3 but only began to play competitively last spring. She is being coached by LPGA-pro Laura Shananhan-Rowe of North Hampton.

She won Player of the Year (first place in points) for the 8-9 year old girls division, but will be competing in the 10-11 division in Europe and at Worlds. To qualify for these events, golfers must also meet a scoring requirement.

The World Championship is golf’s most prestigious tournament for kids 12 and under. Last year, 51 countries were represented. The 2016 Championship will be held in Pinehurst, NC in August.
