Hampton Man Dies From Injuries From September Crash In N. Hampton

NHSP say the motorcyclist which collided with a Honda CRV at 111 and 151 on September 22nd has died

NORTH HAMPTON, NH - On Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at approximately 1737, New Hampshire State Police-Troop A and North Hampton Police Officers responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 111 and Route 151. It was determined that a 2017 Honda CRV, operated by 72 year-old Lynda Simmons of Hampton, was traveling east on Route 111 when it collided with a 1999 Kawasaki motorcycle operated by 56 year-old Richard Moore of Hampton which was traveling south on Route 151. Moore who was wearing a helmet was transported to the Portsmouth Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries then later Med-Flighted to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts. Simmons was uninjured.

On Sunday, October 4, 2020 Richard Moore passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital from the injuries sustained in the crash. This case remains under investigation at this time.

At the request of the North Hampton Police Department, the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Unit responded to the scene and assumed control of the investigation. Due to the collision, the intersection of Route 111/151 was closed for approximately 4 hours and traffic was diverted around the collision. The New Hampshire State Police were assisted on scene by the North Hampton Police Department, the North Hampton Fire and Rescue Department, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
