Lovering Health Center Offers Free Testing on World AIDS Day

Clinics held in Greenland, Portsmouth.

The Joan G. Lovering Health Center will be observing World AIDS Day on Monday, Dec. 1, by offering free HIV/AIDS testing for Seacoast locals of all ages.

The health center, located at 559 Portsmouth Ave. in Greenland, will be open from 10 a.m. to noon. An additional walk-in clinic will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Portsmouth City Hall’s 2nd floor conference room, located at 7 Junkins Ave.

Joan G. Lovering Health Center will also participate in a World AIDS Day service at the Universalist Unitarian Church on 60 School Street, Saco, Maine. Held from 7 to 8 p.m. by Southern Maine Gay Men, the service will have speakers including Brigit Ordway from the Joan G. Lovering Health Center, and will conclude with a reception from 8-9pm. World AIDS Day, a global public health campaign, strives to raise awareness of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, affecting 35 million people worldwide.

Joan G. Lovering Health Center provides sexual health services to both men and women of the Seacoast. Located in Greenland, NH, the center offers a wide range of services, including pregnancy counseling and testing, contraception and abortion services, STD testing, annual checkups, and sexual health education. The center is named after Joan G. Lovering, a champion for health with a passion for educating and empowering individuals in the Seacoast community.
