NH Troopers Accuse Massachusetts Teen Of Driving 130 MPH On I-95

Zeiad Mancour of Peabody was accused of driving up to 130 mph on Interstate 95 in Hampton and Route 101 in Exeter; was arrested in Stratham.

HAMPTON, NH — A Bay State man was arrested Wednesday on reckless operation and disobeying a police officer charges after being accused of driving at high rates of speed on Interstate 95 and Route 101.

Around 3 p.m., a New Hampshire state police trooper reported seeing a car traveling on I-95 North in Hampton at 112 miles per hour, according to Lt. John Hennessey of Troop A.

"As troopers attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, the driver accelerated to speeds estimated to be in excess of 130 miles per hour while passing groups of uninvolved vehicles in the breakdown lane," Hennessey said. "The suspect vehicle continued to Route 101 and departed the highway at Exit 12, dangerously continuing through a stop sign at the bottom of the exit ramp."

Troopers lost sight of the vehicle, later identified as a 2019 Mercedes C6CS, but with the help of the general public, the Stratham police, and the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department, the car was located on Route 108 in Stratham.

The driver, Zeiad R. Mancour, 19, of Peabody, Massachusetts, was identified as the driver and arrested on the charges. He was released on personal recognizance bail. Mancour is due in Brentwood District Court on Aug. 11.

Two passengers were released from the scene without charges, Hennessey said.

"This event was safely resolved by several agencies," Hennessey said. "However, the willingness of the general public to provide information was immeasurable."
