Salem Driver Ejected In Seabrook Rollover Crash
A 38-year-old Salem driver was hurt when he was ejected from a vehicle during a rollover accident in Seabrook on Interstate 95.
SEABROOK, NH — A driver from Salem was hurt Sunday evening when he was ejected from a vehicle during a rollover accident on Interstate 95 North in Seabrook. State Police say that Richard Beauregard, 38, of Salem, was driving a Ford Explorer when the vehicle left the roadway and entered the center median, striking some vegetation and traveling along an embankment, causing the vehicle to roll over and travel back onto the surface of the road, coming to rest on its side. I-95 in the area of Exit 1 was partially closed to traffic for more than two hours after the accident, State Police say.
The accident happened around 8:40 p.m., according to State Police. Beauregard was ejected from the vehicle during the accident. EMS officials took him to Portsmouth Regional Hospital, where he remains in the intensive care unit, State Police said Monday morning.
State Police say they suspect that speed and drug impairment were factors in the accident. They expect to arrest Beauregard after he is released from the hospital, troopers said on Monday. Still, all factors of the incident remain under investigation, according to police.
