SAU 21 School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in SAU 21 is August 29. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The School Administrative Unit 21 has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/24 - 8/25, 8/28: Teacher Orientation, Work Days
• 8/29: First Day of School

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/27: Early Release (Teacher PD)

November

• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/25 - 1/1: No School ( Holiday Vacation)

January

• 1/1: No School ( Holiday Vacation)
• 1/15: No School (Martin L. King Jr/Civil Rights Day)

February

• 2/26 - 3/2: No School (Winter Break)

March

• 3/1 - 3/2: No School (Winter Break)

April

• 4/6: Early Release (Teacher PD)
• 4/23 - 4/27: No School (Spring Break)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/13: Last Day of School (Tentative)
• 6/14: In-Service Day
