​The Skints Come to Hampton on Nov. 13

HAMPTON, NH — The Skints are coming back to North American for a string of dates this fall. The UK-based reggae-dub four-piece continue to make waves in the states performing with Sublime with Rome and headlining key dates.

The band’s critically acclaimed album FM was released on the premier independent reggae label Easy Star Records. Described by Clash Music as “the torchbearers for modern British reggae music,” The Skints fuse reggae, ska and dub with touches of grime and hip-hop; a contemporary style that draws as much from the streets of the UK’s capital as it does from the Caribbean.

FM is The Skints’ fitting tribute to the radio culture in the UK that educated them to the styles that they splice, dice, expand, and rework on the record. This expansive sound is what has made them such a versatile touring band, coupling able to tour with a wide range of acts, from with ska-punk stalwarts like Less Than Jake and gypsy-punks Gogol Bordello, to Californian sun-soaked reggae outfits like Tribal Seeds and Easy Star All-Stars.
With each trip to the States, The Skints continue to draw new crowds with their phenomenal live shows. The band highlights their talent and passion through intimate and energetic performances as The Guardian hails, “Few British bands play with such fun and invention, not least when they turn Black Flag’s furious ‘My War’ into a delicious lover’s rock stomp.”
