A Worcester, Massachusetts, woman was arrested after police say she drove impaired at more than 100 mph in Hampton Falls.
HAMPTON FALLS, NH — A Massachusetts woman was arrested Friday after she drove impaired at more than 100 miles per hour on Interstate 95 in Hampton Falls, according to the New Hampshire State Police. Laurie Robbins, 45, of Worcester, Massachusetts, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated.
State Police say they were conducting traffic monitoring via aircraft Friday morning when a trooper saw a vehicle weaving in and out of traffic on I-95 North at a high rate of speed. The trooper clocked the vehicle traveling at 106 miles per hour, according to police. The trooper radioed officers on the ground, who stopped a Jeep Wrangler. The driver, Robbins, had signs of intoxication and she failed roadside sobriety testing, police say. She was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated and is due to appear in Hampton Circuit Court for arraignment on July 18.
State Police say that their Special Enforcement Unit regularly use aircraft during commuter traffic times and holiday travel periods to keep the roads safe, targeting speeding and aggressive driving violations. The incident on Friday occurred around 9:20 a.m.
