5 Team Woo Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Fighters Bring Home 11 medals

Team Woo's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighters competed at the OSO Boston that was held in Danvers on February 9th. Sub-Only, No Time Limits

Team Woo’s Jiu Jitsu fighters competed at the OSO Boston. The OSO Boston is a new Submission Only Tournament, from Grappling Industries and was held in Danvers, MA on February 9th. Matches had no time-limits, no point, or referee’s decisions. Someone had to give up to decide a winner. This tournament also had less rules than typical tournaments.

Jerry Kerr earned a Silver Medal in the Gi, Blue Belt, Senior (40+), -185 lbs division. This was Jerry’s first time competing. This is one of the most dangerous tournaments to compete in.

Ben Simon competed in 4 divisions and medaled in all 4. Two of those divisions were Absolute, meaning that they had no weight or skill level limitations. Ben took home 1st in the Absolute, Gi, Blue Belt Masters / Seniors division, 3rd in the Absolute, NoGi, Blue Belt Masters / Seniors division, 3rd place in the Gi, Blue Belt, Master (30+), -170 lbs division and 3rd in the NoGi, Blue Belt, Master (30+), -170 lbs division.

Amber Famisan earned 3rd place in the Gi, White Belt, Master (30+), -135 lbs division and 3rd place in the NoGi, Beginner, MASTER (30+), 135 lbs division.

Alyssa Marini earned 2nd place in the Gi, Blue Belt, Adult, -150 lbs division and 2nd place NoGi, Intermediate, Adult, -150 lbs division. Marini trains Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, teaches adult kickboxing and teen MMA at Woo Kickboxing of Londonderry. Marini is also an MMA fighter that cross-trains at New England Top Team (NETT).

Ed Tapia earned 1st place in the Gi, Blue Belt, Senior (40+), -210 lbs division and and 2nd place in the NoGi, Blue Belt, Senior (40+), -210 lbs division.

Woo Kickboxing of Londonderry is an official Brazilian Top Team affiliate and was founded by New Hampshire's first BTT black belt, Professor Roger Woo. Woo Kickboxing of Londonderry specialize in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Woo Kickboxing and Teen's MMA. They have classes for the entire family. Woo Kickboxing of Londonderry's Brazilian Jiu Jitsu fighters compete under the name Team Woo and are now led by Professor Joe Kvetkosky.
