Bomb Threat Reported At New Hampshire Airport

The Manchester-Boston Regional Airport was evacuated and shut down for about two hours after receiving a bomb threat.

MANCHESTER, NH — New Hampshire's largest airport was evacuated and shut down for more than two hours after a bomb threat was reported on Monday.

The incident was first publicly reported on Twitter by a passenger on a plane that had landed from Florida just before midnight. During the next 30 minutes, a number of people posted notes on Twitter about the shutdown — including the captain of an American Airlines flight from Chicago that was kept away from the terminal, according to a New Hampshire Union Leader staffer.

Passengers on late arriving flights were held during the shutdown, according to press reports. The threat was initially made against the airport around 11 p.m.

"MHT back to normal operations," the airport said on Twitter. "Thank you to mutual aid law enforcement partners and MHT security and Ops teams."
