DHART was initially requested to land on the highway but was diverted to land at Parkland Medical Center in Derry. Londonderry EMTs transported the woman to the helicopter landing at Parkland.

NH State Police Lt. Bryan Trask said the vehicle was traveling south on I-93 when, for unknown reasons, left the left side of the highway. Police say the vehicle traveled 700 feet before it came to rest near the Northbound lane. The vehicle initially struck a guardrail traveling and striking the cement base of the bridge.

Trask said a trooper was in the area doing speed enforcement but was south of where the accident happened. He said the speed of people traveling became a problem with many vehicles traveling more than 80 mph on a regular basis. Trask said multiple people reported the car involved in the accident was traveling over 100 mph.

The vehicle had Massachusetts plates, however, the identity and address of the driver have not been released. State police are investigating the accident.

The condition of the driver is unknown, she was flown to a Boston hospital.
