Fishing and Food Trucks This Weekend in Derry
There are several outdoor events scheduled for this weekend in Derry, inlcluding the annual Fishing Derby.

LONDONDERRY, NH - There are several outdoor events scheduled for this weekend in Derry, inlcluding the annual Fishing Derby. According to the Londonderry News, community partners will be hosting several events over the weekend at Hood Park at 14 Rollins Street in Derry, New Hampshire.
Kick off the weekend with the Annual Fishing Derby hosted by the Derry Lions Club. This annual youth fishing derby will be on Saturday, May 5, with registration starting at 7:30 AM, and the event running 8 AM to noon. There is no charge for participation, although donations are welcome to help defray the cost of stocking the pond. The derby is open to kids ages 2 through 15 who can fish without a license. Winners will be announced in several categories.
On Sunday, May 6th stop by Hood Park for food and hoops at the First Collaborative Hoops for Hood and Food Truck Festival Event sponsored by the Derry Economic Development team. From 11 AM until 3 PM, visit one (or more) of the six food trucks serving up some delicious eats. While there, watch as teams go head to head in a basketball tournament. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in the tournament. Email jrbourdon@gmail.com for registration information for the basketball tournament. Any additional proceeds or money raised from sponsors will go directly to the Derry Parks & Recreation Department Revitalization Fund for Hood Park.

The use of the local municipal parking lots is highly encouraged. The lots are available for free in Derry. For both events, parking may be limited. Both events will take place rain or shine.
