Happy Father’s Day To Jay Grant

In celebration of Father's Day on Sunday June 17, we asked Patch readers to write a letter to their father and let us deliver it. This is Julie Marie Grant's letter to her dad:

Dad,

Happy Father’s Day. I know I have not been the easiest daughter, but you do not care. All I know in my heart is that you and I were meant to be. You know you are the love of my life, and even though life has not worked out the way that we planned, you and I have always been thick as thieves.

I joined the Navy, you are a Marine, and all the love, stars, kisses, hugs and drugs do not mean a thing. You, Jay Grant, are an outstanding man!

Lord knows one day I am going to lose you and it’s going to break my heart. Until then, Dad, I will be a good sailor. I always did what my chief told me, and your letters are priceless.

You are my greatest love of all time.
