Jaws Of Life Used To Extricate Three From Single Vehicle Crash
Manchester firefighters extricated three victims with serious injuries from a single vehicle crash on Brown Avenue early Sunday.
MANCHESTER, NH — Around 1:15 a.m. Sunday, Manchester firefighters, AMR Ambulance, and Manchester police were sent to Brown Avenue between Charlotte Street and Lilac Court near the Litchfield town line for a single vehicle off the road and into a tree.
Callers advised of multiple people trapped in the vehicle with injuries.
MFD Engine 9, Engine 3, Rescue 1, and three AMR ambulances responded to the scene. When they arrived on scene, they found a small Jeep SUV with heavy damage from striking a tree and utility pole. Rescue 1 began using the jaws of life to extricate the occupants of the vehicle. MPD closed the avenue and detoured traffic around the accident.

MFD Deputy Chief Andy Parent confirmed three people were extricated from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital by AMR. Parent said all patients had serious injuries but none appeared to be life threatening.
The accident is under investigation by Manchester police and the road has reopened.
