BRENTWOOD, NH — A grand jury at Rockingham County Superior Court has a indicted a Londonderry man on charges of aggravated felonious sexual assault, witness tampering and two counts of second-degree assault. The charges against Tyler J. Williams, 26, state that he choked a woman and had sex with her while she could not physically resist. He is also charged with threatening her not to testify against him.

According to the grand jury indictments, Williams had intercourse with a 28-year-old woman in October while she was physically helpless to resist. The charges state that he pushed down on her and chocked her, impeding her ability to breathe. The witness tampering charge states that the following month he threatened to hurt the victim and her whole family "very, very badly" if she talked to police about the incident.

The grand jury indicted Williams on the four charges this month. All of the charges are felonies, which carry potential penalties of prison sentences.

An indictment is not an indication of guilt; rather, it means a grand jury has found enough evidence in the case to warrant a trial.
