Man Charged With Unauthorized Vehicle Inspections In Derry

The owner of Joe and Kim Auto in Derry was charged with improperly giving state inspection stickers.

DERRY, NH — The owner of Joe and Kim Auto in Derry has been charged with giving improper vehicle inspections. Joseph Durling, 47, of Auburn, was arrested Monday after a two-month investigation by the State Police with assistance from the Department of Motor Vehicles.

According to the State Police, Durling directed employees to complete the inspections while knowing they were not certified. Police say he also directed employees to use his username and password to access the New Hampshire On Board Diagnostics and Safety Testing computer network to complete unauthorized state inspections.

Durling was charged with unsworn falsification and computer related offenses on Monday. He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear for arraignment July 26 in Derry District Court.
