Manchester Police Looking To Locate Missing 20-Year-Old Man
UPDATE: Manchester Police say Afshin Zarechian has been safely located in Fryeburg Maine police and Maine state police.
MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester police are asking for the public’s help in locating Afshin Zarechian, 20, of Manchester.
Police have been working with federal, state, and local law enforcement partners in New Hampshire and Maine in regards to social media rumors associated with Zarechian. The investigation has not identified any criminal conduct committed by Zarechian. At this time, the case is being treated as a missing person.
Zarechian’s whereabouts are currently unknown, but he may have been in North Conway, NH, and possibly Naples, Maine, over the weekend.

Zarechian is 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs around 150 lbs., has dark hair, eyes, and complexion. Zarechian should be operating a green 2011 BMW 3- series sedan with NH license plate RICCH.
On Friday UMaine police said, “UMaine Police were investigating a social media threat. Asking public's help locating Afshin Zarechian, 20, male, of Manchester, NH, 5’9”, 150 lbs., brown hair/eyes, dark complexion, in green BMW, NH plate RICCH. If seen, call 207-581-4040.”

On Saturday, UMaine police said the campus was not in lockdown — contrary to that information circulating on social media.
"Out of an absolute abundance of caution, there are extra police patrols in the area, and community members are reminded to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings," a report stated. "If you see something, please say something."
They also referred to Afshin Zarechian as being mentioned in the original post.
