Motorcyclist Flown By DHART Medical Helicopter After Derry Crash

An accident on the Route 28 Bypass led to a closed the roadway while medical personnel treated a motorcyclist.

DERRY, NH — Derry police and firefighters were dispatched to a call for a two-vehicle accident on Route 28 Bypass at Daniel Road around 12:25 p.m.

On their arrival to the scene they found a motorcyclist in the roadway with serious injuries. Derry firefighters requested dispatch find the availability of a medical helicopter due to the serious injuries.

The male motorcyclist was treated at the scene and transported via a Derry Fire ambulance to meet DHART Medical helicopter at the landing pad of Parkland Medical Center. The victim was flown to an unknown trauma center.

Derry police are investigating the accident. Initial information is that the passenger car was traveling South on Route 28 and the motorcycle was traveling North. Based on information gathered at the scene, it appears the car turned in front of the motorcycle.

A full investigation is underway by Derry, NH Police.
